Renji's currently implemented Bankai is a bit derpy. Last I had it, destroying one segment could break the entire Bankai and freeze every other part of it besides the head in place.

Release masteries don't set themselves properly as a Modified Soul mimicking a Shinigami or Vaizard (mask mastery included, all of them are set to 0% upon copying).
